2023 Seeds Fund Recipient
The CODECH cooperative used a 2023 Seeds grant to help 12 members improve their farms and make farming more sustainable. These farms now serve as demonstration plots where agronomists train farmers on organic farming methods to boost crop quality and yields. Investing in these farms directly impacts the plot’s owners, and also makes training more accessible to other cooperative members spread out in these rural areas. Over the next two years, these pilot farms are expected to greatly increase production and quality.
Seeds Program
Counter Culture Coffee collects $0.01 from every pound of coffee sold to fund our Seeds program. Annually, $1 per pound of our winter coffee blend, Iridescent, goes to further increase our contribution. Seeds offers financial grants to producers and producer organizations we work with to implement sustainability projects they identify as beneficial. To date, we’ve allocated over $450,000 to Seeds projects.
